Tombstone Huckleberries broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a 1 to 0 win over the reeling Dart Weasels and sending their hometown fans home smiling. Tombstone won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Troy Glaus ripped a base-knock. Mike Lieberthal got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Magglio Ordonez then slapped a one-base hit. After another out, Edgar Renteria stepped up to the plate and he stroked a base-hit giving Tombstone the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Tombstone had 9 hits for the afternoon while Dart had 6. The win went to Brian Bruney(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Salomon Torres(1-3) absorbed the loss in relief. With this win, Tombstone has a 38-28 record. They have been 6-4 lately. Still in a bad slump, with this loss, Dart is 1-9 lately and 31-35 on the year.
